GES's management is committed to maintaining a proactive safety culture whereby health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) excellence will be considered synonymous with the name GES. It is GES policy to conduct its operations and business in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, others involved in its operations, and the public. GES will strive to prevent accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses through the proactive participation of every employee. GES is committed to complying with all applicable laws and the continuous efforts to identify, eliminate or manage health and safety risks associated with its activities.

To accomplish this, GES shall:

  • Provide safety training for the necessary employees.
  • Promote safety awareness through regularly scheduled safety meetings.
  • Maintain the "Mentor System" for all new employees.
  • All employees are to prevent unsafe activities by observing each other's daily activities with "Stop the job" authority.
  • Investigate and track injury incidents, incidents, near misses, and conduct safety studies to better prevent future injury incidents.
  • Maintain the vPSI style hazard identification and mitigation currently used by GES to identify the environmental, health and safety standards required by GES and its customers.

Safety & Environmental Management Plan

In accordance with GES's policies on safety, health and environmental issues, GES is committed to conducting its business in a manner which:

  • Ensures that all GES's facilities are designed, constructed, maintained, operated and monitored in accordance with high and consistent standards
  • Complies with all relevant federal laws and regulations.
  • Is compatible with economic and environmental needs of federal guidelines

To ensure that we continue to meet these objectives, the management of GES has adopted this proactive management system, which specifies the approach GES intends to take in identifying and managing safety, health, environmental and operational hazards. Application of vPSI is expected and everyone must make every effort to meet or exceed these requirements. All activities will be monitored utilizing the vPSI rating system to ensure full compliance is achieved and maintained.

Corporate Policy

GES's current position is based upon a cooperative business agreement between our customers and ourselves. We have completed both small and large introductory projects and have a successful track record. GES has as policy, dedicated to a long term commitment to our customers.

Parties are dedicated to profitable and responsible practices in all opportunites addressed through this cooperation. We deal only with "win-win" opportunites and will not jeapordize our close relationship with programs that do not benefit all participants. It is our intent when working with our customers to become good corporate citizens and contribute to the local economies. We will utilize local personnel whenever possible and contribute to the improvement of local organizations and charities within Alaska. GES will abide by all laws and show respect for our customs and address any problems or misunderstanding openly and fairly. GES will fulfill our obligations to the best of our ability.

Community Support

GES is committed to supporting our community:

  • Sponsored Alaska youth hockey teams and Volleyball.
  • Former Member of the Board of Directors for the Armed Services YMCA, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.
  • Awarded DISTINGUISHED FRIEND OF THE ARMY. Presented by Colonel George J. Vakalis, Infantry Garrison Commander.
  • Anchorage Armed Services YMCA recognized GES as a partner member for contributing to the support of programs and services for young military and their families.
